Project No Meaning ("we," "our," or "us") operates the HanGo mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
The app stores the following information locally on your device only:
When you first open the app, our subscription provider generates a random, anonymous app user ID. It is not linked to your name or account details. We use the same anonymous ID for subscriptions, push notifications, and analytics so these services refer to the same installation.
If you purchase HanGo Pro, payment is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives your anonymous app user ID and purchase records (such as which product you bought and when) to verify your entitlements. We do not receive your payment information, Apple ID, or Google account details.
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. PostHog receives your anonymous app user ID, events about which features you use (for example, starting a lesson or opening the paywall), and basic settings: whether you have Pro, your learning and interface languages, your streak, and your level. PostHog also records basic device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, app version, and language) and may derive your approximate country or city from your IP address.
If you allow notifications, we use OneSignal to deliver practice reminders. OneSignal receives a push token for your device, your anonymous app user ID, basic device information, and the same settings listed above (Pro status, languages, streak, level) so reminders can be relevant. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
When you use Listen & Repeat, the app uses your microphone to record what you say. That audio is sent to your device's speech recognition service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS) to turn it into text, and the text is compared with the sentence to score your pronunciation. We do not store your recordings and do not send them to our own servers. The microphone is used only while you are actively practicing.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
We share data only with the service providers below, only for the purposes described, and we do not sell it.
HanGo does not use advertising networks.
HanGo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
